Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become emergency first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.


How long will it take?

To complete this emergency first aid at work qualification learners should expect to undertake 7 hours of learning, typically over one day, with a minimum contact time of 6 hours.


Topics covered

The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider and how to assess an incident. The qualification also covers first aid skills in CPR and use of an AED, providing first aid to a casualty who is choking and dealing with external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock.

FREC Course

Who is this qualification for?

Level 3 First Response Emergency Care is a pre-hospital care course, that expands on basic first aid knowledge and implements the use of care equipment to be able to save lives and keep people safe at events and venues. 

The First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3) course is perfect for those seeking a career in the event medical and security sector or those who work in high-risk workplaces, it covers the full range of skills required by the HSE for first aid, and more!

The aim of the FREC Level 3 is to benefit Learners by enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of prehospital emergency situations.

Its purpose is to prepare learners to be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective prehospital care in situations which can arise when providing emergency treatment and/or management.

Level 2 Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Sector

Who is this qualification for?

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor and is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 61 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 44 contact hours (6-days) if self-study is undertaken.

Topics covered

These include the main characteristics of the Private Security Industry, the importance of safe working practices, drug-misuse legislation, issues and procedures relevant to the role of a door supervisor, licensing law, queue management, how to recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situations, problem-solving techniques when resolving conflict, physical interventions and the implications of their use and the use non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others.


Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (TOP UP)

Who is this qualification for?

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 23 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 13 contact hours (2-days) if self-study is undertaken.

These include principles of terror threat awareness, principles of using equipment as a door supervisor and the application of physical intervention skills.

Level 2 Award for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance) in the Private Security Industry

Who is this qualification for?

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a CCTV operator and is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 31 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 22 contact hours (3-days) if self-study is undertaken.

These include the main characteristics of the Private Security Industry, the importance of safe working practices, drug-misuse legislation, the purpose of CCTV systems, surveillance techniques, and producing evidential documentation.

Level 3 Award in the Safe Use of Mechanical Restraints (Handcuffs)

Who is this qualification for?

This programme is aimed at learners who have already gained an SIA licence, along with civil enforcement and community safety accredited persons. This programme allows them to expand their knowledge on the use of mechanical restraints in a safe and lawful manner.

How long will it take?

The total qualification time for this qualification is 12 hours, 8 which are recommended as guided learning hours.
